My Review:

Why? Why do I always forget that I will need tissues to make it to the end of a Shari J Ryan title? At least this time, most of them were sweet happy tears and I’m not quite the complete emotional wreck I usually am. This is not a book to be read out of context. You really do need to have read the three before it for everything to make sense, especially Bourbon on the Rocks which is Journey’s side of the events that take place in the front half of this book. From Journey’s story, I knew that she was dealing with some very heavy issues. Now I get to see it from Brody’s perspective and learn that he’s carrying burdens just as heavy. I loved everything about this book. My heart hurt for them, but I don’t think there’s anything I would change even if I could. Except maybe make it so it wasn’t over. The collective Quinn and Pearson families have crawled into my heart and I’m nowhere near ready to say “goodbye” to them. Stories of The Barrel House next generation perhaps?
