Not much happened in the sleepy little town of Buhl, Idaho and that’s exactly why Detective Crew Irvin had moved there from the big city. So, when it appears a horse is murdered out on the Whiskey Ranch, Crew wants to wrap it up neatly, and quickly. That means slapping the cuffs on the super sexy ranch hand, Heather Cobbler.

Crew’s detective skills might be rusty, but he didn’t have cobwebs for brains and Heather was about as guilty as the sky was pink.

Only he couldn’t prove it without putting himself in the line of fire.

My Review:

In a small town, everyone looks out for one another. It also means that someone’s always watching. All the time. This story shows us the darker, hurtful, side of gossip as Heather and Crew try to avoid the spotlight only to end up pushed further into it. Both have secrets and baggage that they’re not prepared to share with the town, which allows someone determined to hurt Heather to use all the half-truths and speculation against her. Will Crew be able to get to the bottom of the mess before it’s too late? I loved this pair together, from their super awkward first scene to the too precious for words epilogue. The mystery that surrounds them has twists that I never saw coming and kept me glued to the page. I’m so glad that we get more stories about Whiskey Ranch and the people that live and work there. I can’t wait until our next opportunity to come back.
