Tall, dark, and gorgeous with cobalt-blue eyes.

It doesn’t hurt that he’s the billionaire owner of the resort we’re staying at.

And all of it is just what I needed for my celebration weekend after graduating with my master’s.

It’s our last girls’ weekend before my friends and I go our separate ways, and it’s going to happen with a bang.

Literally. Hopefully.

It would be a first.

The desire was to keep things casual, but our connection is far too deep for that.

Him being ex-military and me being an Army brat.

The rules we each set up are shattered thanks to the raging passion between us.

But eventually, I have to go home.

What I never expected in a million years was that he might follow me.

Enough swimming in the shallow end of the pool.

We’re diving in deep.

My Review:

This is probably the lowest angst story I’ve ever read from Ali Parker. It’s sweet and adorable and not at all what I was expecting from her work. I’m so used to the high drama, extreme tension, and gritty intrigue of so many of her other books, that this one took me by surprise. This is the sort of story that I would consider a perfect poolside read. Sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in their world. Trent and Sade seamlessly fit together like puzzle pieces. Their lives aren’t all sunshine and roses, but the universe is definitely pulling for them. Trent is the perfect military hero; a wounded warrior and as noble as any fairy tale knight. Sade has some serious body image and self-confidence issues that she disguises with a feisty independent spirit. (However, here’s where I’m lodging a protest: even in my youngest and tiniest years, I never considered a ladies’ size 8 “big”.) I really enjoyed watching them pull together to make it all work. I hope I’m seeing the potential for a couple more books out of the “friends and family”, because I’m not at all done reading about this cast of characters. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
