Shadow Lane Academy Book 1

I used to think my job, as a lead teacher at Shadow Lane Academy, was the most important thing in life. . .

Now, I’m just trying to survive.

When the Sentries—mysterious, mechanical, witch-hunting monsters—threatened the safety of the magic school, my father, the headmaster, brought in the Sentry-fighting superstar, Crew Wrathshore.

But Crew brought many secrets with him; secrets about himself and why he’s really here. . .

The Sentries are after a specific target at Shadow Lane and they won’t leave it alone until they get what they want.

To protect my school, my sister, and myself, my only choice—and maybe my only hope for survival—is to work with Crew.

But will his secrets put us all in danger?

My Review:

This is a fascinating start to a new series. It’s the kind of urban fantasy I love best; where it’s set in a funhouse mirror version of our own world. In this case, magic, demons, and the fae are all alive and kicking – though someone out there wishes they weren’t. This was a super-fast read filled with action and revelations. There’s not much I can say that won’t give away the whole plot, other than I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read more about Marigold, Crew and all the rest of Shadow Lane Academy. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
