My Review:

I keep forgetting that this author is the master of the story where nothing is quite what it appears to be. I know I just finished reading this, but in so many ways I have no idea what I just read. It’s a twisty political thriller, it’s a paranormal romance, it’s even a bit of a post-apocalyptic dystopian journey of discovery. I feel that if I were to get much deeper into a description of this book, I’d give away all the best parts (‘cause kinda the whole thing is the best part). Just beware of the cliff-hanger ending; it is steep and, while expected, it’s still somewhat sudden. I may not know for certain what this book just put me through, but I do know that I loved it and I can’t wait to do it again. I don’t have any guesses as to what’s waiting for Kirby in the next book, but I know I want to get my hands on it. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
