The Eden Empire Book 2
An overnight heiress meets the man of her dreams—
and her newfound family’s worst nightmare.
Discovering she’s a member of Manhattan’s most famous retail dynasty has given Emma Stewart a place to belong. Meeting a seductive stranger makes her rags-to-riches transformation complete. But British-born heir Daniel Stone is secretly carrying out revenge against her new family. Now the clock is ticking down to midnight on their secret affair…

My Review:
I’m a sucker for a fairy tale retelling, and Cinderella has always been THE fairy tale that I judge all other stories against. This Emma feels very different from the girl we barely got to meet at the end of the first book. This Emma is nothing like that curt, angry young woman; she’s vivacious and charming, and just so bloody earnest. Daniel is a man facing Solomon’s Dilemma: either he can make his mother happy or he can be happy for himself. As the situation stands, these two are mutually exclusive outcomes. And I had to feel for Daniel; he was in a Catch-22 with no easy solution in sight. I loved watching this pair fall for each other. It was so adorably sweet. I thought Emma was a bit naïve at times, but I can’t say that I’d behave a lot differently when faced with similar circumstances. Likewise, I thought Daniel came off as a bit of a wimp when facing his mother a lot of the time, yet I know I didn’t handle my own overbearing family any differently. These things that sound like criticisms actually made me connect with and love these characters even more. I can’t wait to see what in store for the next Eden sister. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
